Job Title 1

Job Objective:

§ Work closely with marketing and sales teams to collect unmet customer needs and initiate R&D projects/activities to help grow ENC business in Asia.与市场销售团队紧密合作、收集客户需求,发起并推动研发项目以帮助特种工程塑料亚太区的业务增长。

§ Research on thin wheels related technologies, create IP (patents, business secrets), develop new products and new processes for TW China plant as well as TW Asia through worldwide networking cooperation.

RE, CGTC磨削(高级)研发工程师(机械背景)

Job Objective:

§ Member of the CGTC(China Grinding Technology Center) technical staff, carry out projects, directly align and/or contribute to team projects leading to advancement of abrasive finishing technology and products.

Job Responsibilities:

§ (5%)Comply with the related EHS laws and SGRS policies; Be familiar with the MSDS, Risk Assessment approach; Have the common knowledge and sense for the manufacturing and machine operation, such as preventive maintenance and LOTO, etc. Be familiar on the related SOP

§ (50%)Grinding research projects:

A: Leading the key research projects in CGTC. Study the performance of the grinding system (abrasives, work piece, grinder, grinding parameters). Strengthen the technical understanding of the application of the abrasives 7 grains (High speed grinding, super precision grinding, Sanding and polishing, Robotic polishing & grinding, chemical mechanical polishing). Understand the grinding performance of the abrasives, build up the testing method for the abrasives and contribute to the new abrasives product development.

B: Manage the R&D project (budget, timeline) and update the progress to the management level

(50%)磨削技术研发项目:

§ (30%)External technical service projects:

Lead external project with external customers (OEM, End users, Application team, Product team,Marketing team): Define projects related to Application Engineering solution, develop proposals, and execute them together with suitable SGA(Saint-Gobain Abrasives Shanghai Company) resources to achieve technical superiority over competitors and also establish credibility and collaboration with key customer. Providing technical support to SGA partners and customer in Asia Pacific

(30%)对外技术支持:

Job Requirements:

§ Good understanding of the scientific research principles. Know how to define the problem, propose the hypothesis, use scientific methods to prove the hypothesis and solve the problems, design of experiment, data analysis and so on.

§ Mechanical background, working experience on manufacturing R&D environment is preferred. Be familiar with the machine construction, mechanical transmission. Machine diagnostics knowledge is preferred. Grinding technology is also preferred.

§ Understanding the principle of the measurement, such as how to select a good instrument for the variable, which will be measured, what is the primary factor that must be paid attention on it during the measurement process.

§ Experiences on the virtual instrument, such as Labview or LabWindows, etc. Having the abilities to use this software to do the data sampling, and programming new software or interfaces based on them.

§ Basic programming is required, Excellent PC skills is required.

§ Ability to communicate professionally with people at all level in English.

§ Have energy, drive and passion to achieve goals, proven self-starter on taking initiative to drive change.

§ Strong Leadership, or have the potential to grow as the team leader.

§ Have the ability to be manage, control the project, and the experience to work on the projects overseas is preferred.

Job Title 6

Image & Data Analyst图像与数据分析工程师

Job Objective:

§ Develop and maintain image/data analysis modules/functions for measurement projects/big data applications. Candidate should have a deep knowledge on image processing, data treatment, machine learning (including statistical analysis, feature detection, pattern recognition) and experience on developing functions, modules for industry system with C/C++, Python, Sharp.

§ His/her role in CIT department will be, starting from the work already done, to design, develop and maintain image processing algorithms, data analysis routines and machine learning/data mining methods to be used in measurement projects/big data applications for process control and/or quality control in SG plants and BU R&D activities. Some support to plants are also required.

Job Responsibilities:

§ (55%) Develop and maintain image processing algorithms, data analysis routines and machine learning/data mining methods to be used in measurement projects/big data applications for process control and/or quality control in SG plants and BU R&D activities.

§ (35%) Work closely with BU R&D and SG plants in China to familiar with the SG products and their production process, quality control, application of industrial needs of measurement systems. Support the plants in Industrial 4.0/Smart/Digital manufacturing projects and gather knowledge in such solution (advantages and drawbacks).

Job Objective:

§ Focus on ceramic processing platform, to provide technical support to CMA R&D team and plants on ceramic materials engineering and processing technologies. Meanwhile collaborate with them on projects to find solutions together and contribute to lab competency development.

External Venture Project Manager对外风险投资项目经理

Job Objective:

§ Saint-Gobain is looking for a dedicated individual to join its NOVA External Venturing team as a Junior Project manager. Projects will focus on identifying and sourcing potential partnerships with and/or investments in world-class startups, mainly in new technologies such as digital customer journey, robotics & exoskeleton, AR/VR, sensors & connected objects, multi comfort advanced materials. As a Junior Project Manager, you will join NOVA in and its efforts to be a strategic partner to both startups and Saint-Gobain’s businesses. We provide startups with access to markets and customers, exposure to experts within Saint-Gobain, structure bespoke partnerships to help them thrive; rigorous market analysis and understanding of the business strategies and the start-up ecosystem are at the core of our activities.

You will be expected to collaborate with the entirety of the NOVA team to assist in ongoing projects and activities. You will be expected to utilize excellent communication and project management skills to interface with both internal and external partners in a variety of ways

Job Responsibilities:

§ Strictly follow company EHS & 5S policies and regulations. Follow R&D personnel's individual EHS responsibilities listed in 'EHS Responsibilities Management Program'

§ Building market maps of startups operating within the scope of target areas we have defined as strategic focus for the team. Understanding basic technical underpinnings of the NOVA’s target areas and the ways they can provide value to the business

§ Supporting due-diligence process and market validation for companies in deal pipeline

§ Interacting with key Saint-Gobain business stakeholders internally and connect with appropriate network in coordination with the rest of the team. Collaborating with NOVA team members based in Paris, USA and the global network to support their target areas strategies, analysis and deployment. Interacting with SG Technology Information Services, the Techno-Marketing Team in order to complement the analysis.

§ Conduct first contact meetings to screen startups for key stakeholders and senior NOVA team members, especially for more opportunistic start-up that are outside target areas. Get acquainted and socialize with local entrepreneurs, academics and incubators network

Job Requirements:

§ Master or MBA with education background in Materials Science and Engineering, other Science and engineering or Business related major, excellent bachelor or PhD are also welcome

§ 3-8 years’ of working experience as engineer or project management role preferred

§ Working experience in incubator, VC or corporate VC preferred

§ Fluent English

§ Excellent listening, communication, teamwork and networking skills

§ Results focused

§ Openness to multi-culture environment
